The Indiana University Department of Biology will host David Pride, M.D., Ph.D., professor of pathology at the University of California San Diego, for the 2025 James P. Holland Memorial Lecture on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 3:30 p.m. in Biology Building A100 and via Zoom.
Dr. Pride’s laboratory focuses on identifying viral members of the human microbiome and is interested in identifying their contributions to human health and disease. His lab wants to understand how bacteriophages can be utilized in the human microbiome to improve human health. For more information about the Pride Lab, visit thepridelaboratory.org.
Attendees at the in-person seminar will be able to engage directly with Dr. Pride during the Q&A portion, while those joining virtually may participate via webinar chat (facilitated by a co-host). Light refreshments will be served before the seminar.
The James P. Holland Memorial Lecture Series was established in 2000 to honor the late James P. Holland, a beloved IU biology professor and gifted scientist who passed away in 1998.
