"Very good news!" announced Curt Lively, distinguished professor of biology. "Britt was awarded the Young Investigator Prize from the American Society of Microbiology. Well done!"

Britt Koskella was a member of the Lively lab in the IU Department of Biology and earned her Ph.D. in Evolution, Ecology, and Behavior with a minor in Genetics in 2008. The ASM ICAAC Young Investigator Prize is given to recognize and reward early career scientists for research excellence and potential in microbiology and infectious disease.

Prior to her position at UC Berkeley, Koskella was NERC Independent Research Fellow at University of Exeter (2012-2015); NERC Postdoctoral Independent Research Fellow at Oxford University (2010-2011); NSF International Research Fellow at University of California, Santa Cruz (2009-2010); and NSF International Research Fellow at Oxford University (2008-2009).

Koskella will be recognized as a recipient of the Young Investigator Prize at the ASM Microbe 2018 meeting in Atlanta.
